About
Admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1989, Jean Dallaire has prior experience as a construction worker and contractor, which has enabled him to develop technical expertise and specialized services tailored to construction contractors.
Mr. Dallaire has primarily devoted his career to construction litigation before the courts and arbitration bodies. He has regularly been invited to speak at conferences on the subject before various associations and contractor groups.
After 30 years of litigation practice, he now serves as legal counsel to assist contractors in their day-to-day operations, develop strategies to avoid litigation, and ensure that contractors are well-prepared to handle potential legal proceedings. He also supports new business and construction contract managers in their daily operations.
Engagements
From 2014 to 2022 : Member of the board of directors of the Association canadienne de la construction (ACC).
From 2010 to 2022 : Member of the board of directors of the Association de la construction de Québec (ACQ).
From 2009 to 2010 : Teacher at l’École du Barreau (course on the law of obligations).
From 2005 to 2009 : President of the Cégep de Lévis-Lauzon.
Lectures and presentations
Since 2010 : Mr. Dallaire has given numerous lectures on construction law, notably at the provincial ACQ during conferences, breakfast meetings, and the Journées de la construction in Quebec City. He has also been a guest speaker at the Canadian Institute as part of the Super Conferences, as well as at numerous conferences organized by construction subcontractor associations.
